I was just a kid with a broken voice when my father came and surprised me for the first time of many other. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Look what I found” He was smiling, the mouth full of teeth.
I looked at him and I saw a very old guitar, all patched up with duct tape.
I stood up and he passed it to me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Someone dumped it in the trash. I just fixed. Try it, you might like it”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I grabbed the guitar, and I strummed the strings the same way you would remove an unexpected bug from your leap.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“It sounds horrible” I said.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Of course, you will have to tune it”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My father took the guitar and started the tuning process. At the beginning I thought he was inventing all, joking the way he always did, but after few minutes the guitar was tuned. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Try now” he said.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I pressed all the open strings and I remember getting all amazed about the sound.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Back at that time, I was not actually conscious about what he was doing but I know now, almost 30 years later and when he is already gone. He gave me one of the best gifts no one ever has gave to me, and I also discovered that he played guitar at some extent, which I had no clue back then. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
From that day, I did not stop playing the guitar, I got a hobby for the rest of my life, he taught me that small gestures such as this one, can make a big impact someone else’s life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you, dad.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
